Haul: Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Boots & More!

I hope you all had a lovely January! I've been super busy and so rather failed at blogging but today I am back with a little haul for you all! I haven't done a haul in ages, but recently I did a bit of shopping and bought some nice bits and pieces which I thought I would share.

Firstly I bought a couple of bits from Topshop. I have been needing some new dark wash jeans, as my beloved Tophsop Jamie jeans that I have worn to death aren't looking there best :( So I went jean hunting for some similar/as-identical-as-possible ones and these are the pair I picked. They are Leigh jeans from Topshop, which is the other style I love, and I picked them as they are a bit less bulky that the Jamie ones they had, and so I think easier to wear. For the quality and wear these jeans are, I think they are reasonably priced and I know I'll get my money's worth. These are a must-have staple in my wardrobe.

Whilst in Topshop, I saw this mustard-brown coloured cardigan (I think that's how you'd describe it?) across the shop and I literally ran to it. If you haven't already guessed from reading my blog, I have a weakness for chunky knit cardigans and this one was too cosy and cute to leave there. I am super excited to start wearing this.

I also got this headband in Topshop, for £3 in the sale, an absolute bargain, which I am obsessed with and it keeps my ears cosy and warm when I'm walking to school ;)

Finally clothing wise, I picked up this little cropped T-shirt from Title Unknown in Urban Outfitters in the sale. I have a very similar style grey one (see here), which I got in the sale last year, and practically lived in, as it's so comfy and easy to wear. I picked up this one, which at first I wasn't entirely sure on but it looked a lot better on than it did on the shelf. And considering who much I've worn the other, I think it was a sale steal.

As well as my fashion bits, I also had a bit of beauty splurge, which is a rare thing for me, as beauty isn't as much my thing. Firstly, in Boots, I picked up this Tresemme Salon Smooth Serum which just caught my eye when I went in. One of my new years resolution/change-type things is to look after my hair better, so I need to invest in some good hair care products and this is the beginning. This called to me as it has Argon Oil, which is supposed to be good for your hair, yet it was still on the affordable side. I've used it a bit already and so far its good!

These makeup brushes I picked up on the other hand, were not so kind to my bank balance. They are the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Set. I have no idea what duo fibre is or if it's any better than the normal ones, but I chose these as they had a more varied range of brushes. I already own one Real Techniques brush, which I love and use daily, and although they are expensive, I consider it an investment. The one I own has lasted well so I hope these to do the same.

I then popped in House Of Fraser and picked up the Origins Super Spot Remover blemish gel. I have been wanting to try this for a while now as I have heard many good things about it. As a teenager, naturally my skin looks like crap so I am doing everything possible to make it better, and so I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy this. It's the smallest bottle ever, but hopefully it will do the job!

Finally we have a book, which I actually got a while a go as I little after-Christmas present from my grandma, but I wanted to share it with you. It is The Guest Cat by Takashi Hiraide, and it has the most beautiful cover in the world, its all iridescent and it has a cat on. What more could you want?! I have never seen any reviews of this or heard of it (and I read a lot of book blogs) but it sounds fab. I'm bumping this up near the top of my TBR pile.

Have you tried any of these things? What did you think? Or what have you bought on your most recent shopping trip?

Chelsea Boots Bargain

I have pretty much worn the same pair of grey New Look lace-up boots with every single outfit I've put on since September and a lot of last winter. I've showed them in a few outfit posts, and I still adore them, but they are looking bit worn out, and seeing as they are basically the only shoes I wear, I think I needed some new ones.

I have been wanting a pair of Chelsea-style boots for so long, but I have had real trouble finding any. Either they aren't in a style I like, they're too expensive or out of stock in my size. But then I found these beauties. They are plain black Chelsea boots, with the distinctive elastic patches and a slight scalloped detail around the side. I am obsessed with them

They are from New Look and even though they weren't in the sale, I consider them a sale purchase as they were £20. TWENTY FREAKING POUNDS. I could not believe my eyes when I saw them. For boots exactly how I wanted, of good quality, I think this may be my best bargain purchase ever.

And the secret is? New Look Teens. I hardly ever look in the teen range at New Look but I had a look out of interest and the some of stuff they have was way better than I was expecting, especially the shoes. They have a way more wide range than I thought, with sizes going up to a 7 (which for young teen fashion is not bad). And they are cheaper than the main shoes - in some places, half the price.

The teenage shoes do not appear in the main shoes section, they are rather pesky and often escape our view, but I highly recommend having a look next time you are in store or online because they have some lovely pieces.  I will still continue to buy shoes from the adult section as they do have a larger variety still and many nicer shoes, but I will be checking the teen section just as often. I've already got my eye on a few more things!

Happy January!
