16th Birthday Wishes

So on the 15th of this month it was my 16th birthday, woop! All of my friends and family were all overly generous and I got loads of amazing presents so I thought I would share some of my favourites in a post.
As always, I am not in anyway bragging or showing off and I am extremely grateful for everything I got. I know a lot of people enjoy reading these (as do I) and last years went down rather well.

So from my immediate family, I got quite a few lovely things. The first is a popcorn maker which isn't in any of the photographs so you will have to use your imagination, which I am super excited to use! I also got Crumb by Ruby Tandoh, which is the only thing I asked for, and I am so happy I received. Ruby was my favourite contestant form Series 4 of GBBO and her book is just wonderful, I can't wait to bake some of the recipes. I think I'm beginning to start of collection of cookbooks. The next thing is this gorgeous initial makeup bag from Oliver Bonas. I actually have a larger one, which I adore and use all the time, so I was rather excited to open this. I also got this gorgeous JuJu at Oliver Bonas bracelets with a tiny initial on (which you can't see alas), which I think is beautiful. I have a bit of a problem with single charm bracelets (my Paris one is actually disintegrating I've worn it so much). And then finally this candle. I've never realised I have a love for candles before this , as I don't really know where to by them, but I got given this de-stressing one with eucalyptus, geranium, peppermint and cinnamon one from Heaven Scent and IT SMELLS AMAZING. You don't even need to light it and you can smell it in your room. I'm addicted.

From my grandparents I got a lot of money and vouchers, which I spend on a rather large shopping trip, but also The Siege by Helen Dunmore, which looks amazing and I can wait to read. And a book of poetry. I love poetry.

I also got some unbelievably generous gifts from my friends and here are some of my favourites. Beauty product wise, I got the Lush bubblegum lip scrub which I've had my eye on for weeks, an Essie trio which includes Mademoiselle, Fifth Avenue and Mint Candy Apple and I've never tried Essie so this excites my greatly, the Benefit They're Real eye liner (which I'd never seen before but is so far amazing!) and the Soap and Glory Foam Call Body Wash which smells like heaven in a bottle. I also a beautiful butterfly garland by Sass Belle and a lovely picture frame, which I cannot wait to put in my room. I also got the socks of my dreams, I mean just look at them. The cuteness is painful. And then the most beautiful notebook you ever did see and a lovely witty little notebook which I shall ramble about how annoying everyone is, as it tells me I should. I also got a crap load of chocolate from my friends

I had an absolutely amazing birthday so thank you to everyone who made it so special. Thank you to everyone who sent my birthday messages on Twitter or Instagram, or if you said it in person, and to everyone who made me have a lovely day. I loves yous all.

Hope you a having a lovely day, hugs,

Zoella Beauty

So I don't usually do beauty posts but I recently picked up a few bits from the super-hyped Zoella Beauty line and I thought I would share my opinions. I've watched Zoe for a very long time now, almost 3 years, and I do really enjoy her videos so when I heard about her beauty line I knew I wanted to try some of the products. I was very skeptical as I am of most products released by YouTube stars, but I was pleasantly surprised.

So I picked up the Soak Opera Bath Soak & Shower Cream and the Creamy Madly Dreamy body lotion about 2 weeks ago therefore I think I've really had a chance to test them out. I actually tweeted when I bought these and my lovely friend Niamh noticed and bought me the Lets Glow candle from the line for my birthday (birthday haul coming soon) so thank you Niamh ;)

Its all very reasonably priced which I was surprised but happy to see. It isn't just ripping you off because it's brand by a Internet superstar, It is affordable and that is one of the main reasons I bought it. Also, the packaging on everything in gorgeous. Its beautiful. I love it.

Firstly the shower cream. The smell wasn't what I expected, but it was a nice fresh yet still had floral hint. Its my kind of scent. As for the product itself, it works quick nicely although a little bit to thick and gloopy when you squeeze it out. But once you start using it, it lathers up well and leaves your skin soft. The smell doesn't linger of your skin, which can be good and bad, depending on if you want it to or whether you want to wear perfume, but personally, I don't like my shower gels to have to much of a scent so I really like this. I wouldn't say this is an unbelievable product and I probably am not going to repurchase it immediately, but it's lovely and I would recommend someone to try it. I shall be using it up and thoroughly enjoying it. 3.5/5

Next the body lotion. I never really buy/use body lotion, but I thought I should probably have one on the go all the time just in case so why not buy this one. I've been making an effort to use this and I have to say I'm impressed. It smells slightly different to the shower cream, a little more floral and perfumed, a little more luxury, which I love. As for the consistency, it's quite thick but not to heavy so its good for every day as well as at night. It sinks in pretty easily and quickly and the scent remains after for a while but its not strong. It thought It was going to be a bit crap but it's actually pretty brilliant. Overall, this is a winner for me, the best product I've tried from the line, and I will probably be repurchasing it when i finish. 4/5

Finally the candle. I haven't had this for as long so I've only lit it once. I like that is small as I never use up candles. It smells mainly floral but theres a little hint of vanilla, and its nice and fresh and calming. It doesn't kick of a load of scent when lit but you can still smell it in the room, subtle and fresh. I think its a scent that will be nice all year round and as a result I reckon i will get some use out of it. It takes me a pretty long time to use up candles so I shall have to see how I get on with it. But so far, I like. 3.5/5

Overall, I like this range. It isn't ground-breaking, but I do enjoy using the products and I would recommend you give them a go. You can buy it here

DIY: Nutella Popcorn

So the other day I came up with the mothership of all recipes. Nutella popcorn. Yes it is as good as it sounds. And so naturally I thought I would share with you.

You Will Need:
Popping corn (both salt and sweet taste fine with it, which ever is your preference)
2-3 large teaspoons of Nutella chocolate spread
1-2 tablespoons of milk (more or less depending on how thick you want your sauce)

First you will need to make your Nutella sauce. Place the Nutella in a small bowl along with the amount of milk you prefer depending on the thickness you want (if you're not sure, its always better to add less and then add more later). Now, you can pop this into your microwave for about 45secs - 1min. When that's up take it out and it may look like nothing has happened. But just give it a stir and you should see the Nutella has become a lot softer and then the milk and chocolate begin to combine to a sauce. Keep stirring until all the lumps have gone and it is smooth. If it's not combining, bung it back in the microwave for another 15-30 seconds and stir again.

Now you need to make your popcorn. Just follow the instructions on your packet, but generally 2 minutes in the microwave. Then gather your ingredients ready to assemble. I'm using this popcorn container from Urban Outfitters and I loves it.
You're now going to want to layer it up. First place a handful of popcorn into your container and drizzle on about a teaspoon of sauce. Then repeat until you get to the top.

And tah-dah! There you have it. I warn you this stuff is seriously addictive and you will stuff your face with it all in one go. It's not an option. When I made this, I just sat in front of my laptop staring a blank screen stuffing my face because I couldn't be bothered to put a film on as I just wanted to eat it. And yes I have the Pirates Of The Caribbean box set. I have no regrets of any of it ^-^.

I hope you liked this DIY - something a little different. If anybody at all maybe has a go at it, I would love to see (Tweet me @helenabub ).
I hope you all had a lovely week.
Hugs
