What's In My Carry On Bag?

I tried to take pictures outside but the sun went in just as I took them. So they're darker than I wanted but oh well

So tomorrow (or today, depending on when I post this), I am going to Greece for my summer holiday and I AM SO EXCITED. I wanted to do some travel themed posts and in particular the 'what's in my travel bag' because its fun and easy to write as I have a lot to do.

I am taking 4 of the 5 books I plan to read this summer (post here) but I'm only taking Anna and the French Kiss and If I Stay in my hand luggage. I'm also taking Company magazine as a bit more reading material, and I'll probably buy a few more magazines at the airport.
I've also packed my beloved notebook for if inspiration for anything strikes at any moment or if I want to write anything down. I pretty much take it everywhere with me so its an essential.
I've also thrown in a jumper because aeroplanes are often super air-conditioned to the point of very cold. I might take my hoodie instead of this jumper, I'm not sure yet.
For the travel minis, I haven't included any shampoo/conditioner etc because that's going in my suitcase, but I have chosen a mini face sun cream which is good for under makeup because I hate
putting the oily ones under my makeup, it goes all eugh and this was super cheap. I also have some tissues, a mini deodorant and blister plasters as well as a hand cream mini and a hairbrush (but I forgot to put the last two in the pictures)
I taking my sunglasses for the sunshine when I get there as well as my purse so I can buy some pointless souvenirs whilst I'm there (everyone does it), and then my passport cover, which currently doesn't have my passport in but it shall. That is also from Cath Kidston.
Finally I'm taking my phone and my ipod and headphones, so I can listen to some music. I'm a bit obsessed with the new Coldplay album at the moment, as well as the usual Imagine Dragons and The1975. I need to spice up my music, its getting repetitive :)

The bag I'm taking is this mah-hue-sive Cath Kidston tote bag which I got as a gift and I am in lovvvvee with. It's so summery and pretty and holds so much, its like a tardis. Lots of room to stash snacks at the airport ^_^

I hope you all have wonderful holidays if you're going away or even if your not I hope you have a relaxing break and that the sun stays out where you live :)

What are your travel essentials?

Summer Reading List

I went on a book shopping spree and it was heaven. Here are my picks and what I am planning to read this summer.

1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I have heard so much hype about this book its unbelievable (its making me worried it won't live up to my expectations ^_^) . But I am so excited to read this. I really want a romance feel-good book, a easy read I can just chill with on holiday. It does sound amazing though, and definitely my kind of holiday book.

2. The Maze Runner by James Dashner. This is pretty much the only major dystopian series I haven't read so I though it was about time a gave it a go. I have had a big dystopia break as it was getting repetitive but I think this looks different and not like any of the others I've read . It sounds brilliant.

3. The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I bought this last summer but never got around to reading it for some reason. I'm determined to read it this year thought (it is also on a reading list for school this year so I do kind of have to read it, but I wanted to anyway). I have seen the film (Emma Stone - silently weeps in a corner at her perfection), even though I wanted to read the book first, but it just made me want to read it even more. I do love a bit of history.

4. If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I bought this based on the film trailer. Which is quite bad I know as the film is probably completely different, but the concept is the same and that's what I liked about it. The whole out-of-body-watching-your-life experience fascinates me, and I love the idea, I just hope the writing and the smaller details in the storyline don't let it down.

5. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. I had heard nothing about this book. Nothing. I saw it in Waterstones and it caught my eye. It has the vaguest blurb ever so I literally have no idea what is about. And that's what I love about it. It  could be amazing, It could be rubbish, but I love that it's a surprise. I am so excited to read this.

If you wish to see reviews on these books prior to buying them, you can find a few of my favourite book blogs here, here and here. They are all equally wonderful.

I am going to a follow up post to this at the end of the summer with mini reviews of each of the books.

What are you reading this summer? Have you read any of these? Do you recommend any?

Playsuit Up

||         Playsuit - Urban Outfitters    Blazer - Zara    Flower Crown - New Look      ||
So I bought this playsuit a while back because I thought it would be cute for the summer and my holidays. I've never really owned playsuits but I don't know, it caught my eye. I actually wore this outfit (with the blazer) for a business week/event my school had for my year group. We had to come all smart and buisnessy and this was one of my outfits.
I have also developed a love for flower crowns recently and this is my first (of hopefully many). I'm rather late on the band waggon but oh well.
I have started my blogging mission. Yesterday I photographed 3 posts in one day which I'm rather proud of, so hopefully they should be up with in the next week or so.
I hope you are all finally finishing/have finished school or college for the summer (I still have until Wednesday - I know I don't see the point of 3 days either).  I literally cannot wait for having days where I can sleep all day and do absolutely nothing. It is going to be amazing.
Love and hugs,
Helena xo
