Double Crossed - Guest Post By Ruby

Thanks to Helena for letting me do this guest post! If you aren't already following this amazing blog of hers... FOLLOW IT NOW! Yes, that is an order. Recently I read a novella, by Ally Carter, and it was absolutely amazing! Here's my exclusive (cause I'm not posting it on my blog) review:

Book blurb:
Macey McHenry—Glamorous society girl or spy-in-training? W.W. Hale V—Heir to an American dynasty or master thief? There are two sides to every coin. Whether these two can work together is a tossup. Born into privilege, Macey and Hale are experts at mingling with the upper class. But even if they’ve never raised an eyebrow at the glitz, neither teenager has ever felt at home with the glamour.
When Macey and Hale meet at a society gala, the party takes a dangerous turn. Suddenly they’re at the centre of a hostage situation, and it’s up to them to stop the thugs from becoming hostile. Will Macey’s spy skills and Hale’s con-man ways be enough to outsmart a ruthless gang? Or will they have to seek out the ultimate inside girl to help?
The worlds of Heist Society and the Gallagher Girls collide in Ally Carter’s fast-paced, high-stakes and tantalizing new story. Get a behind the scenes glimpse as Ally delivers an irresistible thriller that is full of her signature style and savvy twists.

My Thoughts:
Oh wow. This novella made me ashamed. After reading this, I can't help but wonder: WHY haven't I read neither the Gallagher Girls series nor the Heist Society series?!????!!! Ahhhh! I am genuinely ashamed of myself now. Really, I am. Double Crossed had it all: feisty heroines, action and American presidents! Oh wow! It was a tiny bit slow around the middle – but who cares? Despite all the references to the series this was based on, I still found this one heck of a ride..! Pick up this book and you won't regret it. Macey is one of those characters you can't help but love – she's clever, mischievous, disobedient... She's just the sort of rebellious teenage spy you need in a high-action novella like this! Oh, and Hale wasn't half-bad either..! I know Double Crossed is meant to be a dream come true for any Ally Carter fan... But it's an even better introduction to both series for a person who knows nothing about either them! I'll be on the lookout for both these series from now on!
